# Landing Price Updates

> Send midprice updates as V1 transactions so they land fast and cheaply

Your crank may send a price update every time your price moves, up to once per slot. Those updates need
to land quickly, and they need to stay cheap.

## Use V1 transactions

Solana's V1 transaction format (live on mainnet since 15 September 2026) lets a transaction declare
up front how much compute and data it needs. A Hadron price update is tiny, so it can declare a tiny
budget. Validators treat it as cheap to include, so it lands ahead of larger transactions paying the
same.

Use these settings for a midprice update:

| Setting | Value | Why |
| - | - | - |
| Compute limit | 37 | Exactly what an update uses. |
| Loaded-data limit | Program size plus headroom | It has to cover the Hadron program (about 300 KB) and the pool's accounts. Work it out when your crank starts, so a program upgrade can't break it. |
| Sequence | Your price's timestamp | A late update with an older price is rejected instead of overwriting a newer one. |
