Before you start

You’ll need:
  • A Solana wallet with SOL for rent and transactions
  • Your asset’s mint address, and the quote asset you want to trade against (usually USDC or SOL)
  • A price source, the one thing you bring: Pyth, Switchboard, a CEX composite, or your own NAV feed. If your asset has no external market yet, your internal fair value / NAV feed is exactly the right input.
Not sure what to quote around? If you can answer “what would we redeem or mint this at right now?”, you have a price source. The crank turns that number into on-chain quotes.

Create your pool

The pool wizard walks you through the whole flow:
1

Select tokens

Choose your asset and the quote token. Both SPL and Token-2022 mints are supported.
2

Pool parameters

Set the authorities (we recommend a cold owner key and a separate hot quoting key; see Security & controls) and safety parameters like delta_staleness.
3

Initial liquidity

Decide how much of each side to seed. Pools start in a “reject swaps” state, so you can deposit before anyone can trade against you.
4

Strategy

Pick your spread and curve setup. Start from the recommended defaults in Quoting & inventory. You can change everything later without re-audits or re-integrations.
5

Price source

Connect the feed your crank will push. See Running the crank for the 24/7 setup.
6

Verify midprice is updating

The wizard confirms your oracle updates are landing before you flip the pool live. Once live, your pool is routable through Jupiter, Titan, and OKX immediately.
Everything the wizard does is also available programmatically; see the SDK quickstart and Configuring your pool if you’d rather script the setup.

After launch

Two things keep your market healthy day to day: the crank pushing your price (Running the crank) and your spread/inventory configuration (Quoting & inventory). Both are covered next.
